The assistant production co-ordinator is a junior secretarial position in film and TV production offices and the job is administrative, organisational and secretarial. They will assist the production team (which may include Producer, Line Producer or Associate Producer, Production Manager, Production Co-ordinator etc) in all stages of production. They will assist with setting up and maintaining the production office, preparing and distributing contracts, shooting schedules, cast and crew lists, call sheets movement orders and other related production paperwork. The production team will also plan post production and the delivery of the completed production and necessary paperwork.
All production trainees must be able to touch-type and have qualifications for touch-typing at 40 wpm or more. FT2 looks for good proven secretarial skills when recruiting assistant production co-ordinators. Previous office experience is desirable.
