
Assistant Location Managers work very closely with the Location Manager and are involved at every stage of production, from finding locations to making sure they are left in a satisfactory condition at the end of shooting. Assistant location manager's tasks may include breaking down the script and identifying key locations, scouting locations, budgeting the locations, negotiating access, charges for use and permissions, crew parking, power sources, as well as looking after safety and security. At the end of a shoot, assistant location managers will assist in the reinstatement of location, including damage reports, insurance claims, and rubbish disposal.
All production trainees must be able to touch-type and have qualifications for touch-typing at 40 wpm or more. Previous office experience is desirable. To work as an ALM a driving licence is essential.
