LAURA CLARK

 Laura Clark is Director of the Indie Training Fund, the charity which funds and delivers training for independent TV and digital media production companies. Before running the ITF, Laura was Head of Skills at Pact, the UK trade association that represents and promotes the commercial interests of independent feature film, television, animation and digital media companies.

 

STEVE CLARK-HALL

 Steve Clark-Hall runs Skyline Films with his partner Mairi Bett.  He is a producer and Line Producer, with 20 years experience producing feature films.  He is also a long time member of PACTS industrial relations committee.  He completed a major consultancy for the UK Film Council in 2008,  a comparative cost study of 10 major film producing territories.  Recent credits include BRITZ the BAFTA winning Peter Kosminsky C4 production, and Sherlock Holmes, a feature film directed by Guy Ritchie, for Warner Bros.

 

PETER COX

 Peter Cox is a freelance editor in the documentary and factual programme sector.  Originally a film editor, he has now worked with several computerised editing systems including Final Cut Pro, Avid, Lightworks and D-Vision.

Prizes awarded to programmes edited by him include: International Jury Prize Leipzig, Golden Gate Prize, Europe Prize, Japan Prize, Prix du Conseil de l’Europe, 5eme Biennale Europeene du Film sur l’Environnement, and a Bafta programme nomination for Africa’s Child – Niger.

At same time Peter has been an active member of his union BECTU and is currently on its National Executive Committee.

 

ALISON GEORGE

Alison joined Channel 4 in January 2008 as Learning and Organisational Development Specialist. Previously, she has worked as a freelance consultant; a Learning and Development Advisor for a government agency for the DCSF; as well advisory roles in government employability programmes. Her experience includes training design/delivery, team development, coaching and career management all over the UK. 

 At Channel 4, she managed the award winning new-entrant work experience programme Summer School (now known as Generation Next Programme), as well as managing the core training provision for the channel.

 In her spare time outside of Channel 4, Alison works with community groups and charities to provide mentoring and development for socially excluded young people, both in the UK and abroad.

 

JEREMY JOHNS

Jeremy Johns was born in 1967 and brought up in Hertfordshire and Dublin.  He finished his education after A Level’s at college in North Wales.  After a couple of years trying out various career options he entered the Film & TV industry in 1988 through a News Bureau in Park Royal, this lead to a number of junior grade jobs in Current Affairs, TV Drama and Commercials before he moved up to Unit Manager on a selection of TV Drama Series.  He followed this with 5 years of Location Managing and has spent the last 8 years as a Unit Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Production Manager on a wide selection of Feature Films.  Over a 20+ year career, projects worked on include Star Wars, Notting Hill, Gladiator, Band of Brothers, Tomb Raider, Wimbledon and Bond 007's Casino Royale & Quantum of Solace.  He now lives in Hertfordshire again with his wife and twins.

 

BRIAN KELLY

Brian is the Training Officer for the Trade Union, BECTU. He has been a union member, activist, officer and educator for over 30 years and is a passionate advocate of accessible and high quality adult education.

Brian studied at Ruskin College and the University of Oxford, where he graduated in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). He has been a visiting university lecturer, a TUC and WEA tutor and a union education officer at MSF/amicus. He was Director of the Jim Conway Foundation,  an educational charity.

At BECTU Brian has national responsibility for the development of the union's volunteer representatives and activists. He also manages externally funded projects and actively lobbies for and supports vocational training opportunities for the union's members in theatre, film, TV and radio. He sits on the Skillset boards for Wales and Scotland and the National Skills Academy for Theatre & Live Music.

DANIELL MORRISEY

Daniell Morrisey is Talent Business Manager with BBC Vision, the in-house production arm of the BBC comprising Factual, Entertainment, Comedy, Drama, Children’s and Multiplatform programming.

He was previously HR & Development Manager for BBC Entertainment, Comedy and Drama departments, and before that headed up recruitment for BBC News. In that role he ran a recruitment team responsible for hiring journalists and editors across the BBC’s news, current affairs and political output.

Prior to joining the BBC, Daniell spent many years in the commercial sector recruiting journalists and editorial staff for print, interactive and broadcast sector, working with a range of companies including Virgin, ITV and AOL.

Daniell is an experienced career coach and, having started his career as a journalist and magazine editor, still writes about career matters.

 

TIM POTTER

I have been a freelance camera technician since 1984, working across a wide

spectrum of film and television production. Everything from low budget pop

videos, through many TV dramas, to feature films like "The Wedding Date" and "Tomorrow Never Dies". Before that I worked for the regional arts film workshop in Oxford. (before joining the film industry I was a metallurgist on the academic staff of the Open University).

I have been a member of ACTT then BECTU since starting in the industry. As a member of the Camera Branch Committee (which I have Chaired since 1995), I was part of the team that founded Jobfit, FT2's predecessor.
