Assistant Film Editor on Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven".

Michael completed training with FT2 in 2001 as an Assistant Editor.

"Before FT2," Michael explains, "I had involved myself with as many student films as possible. Often directing them myself - just as a means to getting them done! However, student films were never going to get me any income or professional experience. I got into FT2 on my second attempt, and went from prehistoric to cutting edge equipment; from working with like-minded students with little film knowledge to high profile professionals; and from projects which would rarely been seen to a list of creditials which would open several doors in my film career.

FT2 was hard work, and at times frustrating - I wanted to edit, not just become a technician. But looking back now, it was well worth the 2 years. It placed me right at the heart of the industry from which I have since taken my own initiatives to further my career. And along the way I became good friends with some very insiring people. Some of my peers went the other "route" via film school, and whilst their careers are also very rewarding, I certainly feel my career has a much more solid foundation, having had the experience of working with some amazing editors and diverse directors such as Michael Winterbottom and Ridley Scott."
