In this section of the website we have listed all the areas that we provide training for, and given a very brief overview of the job, the employment opportunities and the type of training you will get whilst being an FT2 trainee.
We have provided as many case studies of previous graduates as we can, so you will see that there is no typical type of FT2 trainee.
Since 1985, FT2 has trained over 363 people to work at assistant level in the film and Television industry on it's New Entrant Technical Training Programme and many of them have now progressed into the senior technical and creative jobs of the industry.
In January 2007, 9 New Entrants graduated from the scheme and have secured freelance contrants on productions including:
The New Entrant Technical Training Programme, which was a 2 year scheme, graduated it's final 14 trainees in August, 2007. We do not anticipate running the programme again.
In February 2007, 6 researchers from the scheme graduated and have secured freelance contrants at production companies including:
Flashback, BBC, ZKK, Illumina Digital, Brook Lapping, Windfall, Firefly Productions, Twenty Twenty Television and Twofour Broadcast.

In 2007 we launched brand new schemes called Screen Firsts for new entrants into the industry. These were:
Design First (for art, makeup/hair, props or wardrobe)
Grips First (grips apprenticeship scheme)
Production First (office, continuity or location)
Tech First (camera sound or edit)
Screen Firsts will complete in July 2008.
